About Emerald PTO
The Emerald Elementary PTO brings families, teachers, and staff together to create a supportive and connected school community. Through volunteer leadership and family involvement, we plan events and programs that strengthen relationships, build community, and provide resources to enhance every student’s education.

Our Mission
The PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of children at Emerald Elementary School by fostering relationships among the school, the parents, and the teachers. This support is fulfilled by planning, organizing, and executing events and programs which generate resources and community for our school.
Our 2026-2027 Board Members
The PTO Board is made up of dedicated Emerald Elementary parents and volunteers who serve one-year terms. Together, we carry out the PTO mission by fostering strong relationships among families, teachers, and staff, and by planning programs and events that build community and generate resources to support every student’s education.

We Need You!
We have several open coordinator and event chair positions:
Donations Coordinator
The donations coordinator will spend the school year reaching out to community businesses and companies seeking donations. Donations will be used for raffles from which profits go towards classroom funds, after school clubs/sports and more.
Volunteer Coordinator
The volunteer coordinator will work with the events coordinator to recruit volunteers for special events. This person will also create volunteer sign-ups via Sign-Up Genius and ensure that the sign-ups are circulated and that all volunteers have completed the proper background checks and screening.
Teacher Liaison
The Teacher Liaison serves as the connection between Emerald staff and the PTO, helping ensure that teachers and staff are informed, heard, and represented. While school administration attends PTO meetings, this role provides a staff perspective and helps improve communication between the PTO and the people working directly with students each day.
After School Clubs Coordinator
Help bring enriching opportunities to Emerald students by coordinating our after-school clubs program. This role works with the school and volunteers to recruit club leaders, organize schedules and registration, and communicate club information to families. The After School Clubs Coordinator does not need to run the clubs themselves. Instead, they help make sure everything is in place so volunteers can successfully share their interests and talents with our students.
Yearbook Co-Coordinator
The yearbook photo coordinator will work closely with the yearbook to ensure that photos are taken of all school events. This person will assist in designing, selling, and distributing the yearbook.
Book Fair Co-Coordinator
The book fair co-coordinator will shadow and work closely with the current book fair coordinator. This person will assist the current book fair coordinator from start to finish, learning how to run the sale, get volunteers, etc. This person will be working as the co-coordinator with the full intention of becoming the primary coordinator in the future.
Teacher Appreciation Coordinator
The teacher appreciation coordinator will work to ensure that all administrative holidays are covered with a special gesture on behalf of the PTO. Once there is a vote within the group, the coordinator will work to handle Administrative Day, Custodian Appreciation, Teacher Appreciation Week, etc. This person will be working with the community towards donations for said events, and will work within a predetermined budget for the year.
PTO Meetings
Every Emerald parent and staff member is part of our Parent Teacher Organization — no dues required! The PTO board meets monthly during the school year to hear updates from school leadership, connect with our community, and decide how best to support our students with time, resources, and funding.
